A little about the role
We're building a lean California field organization for larger restoration, reconstruction, renovation, and construction projects. You run real projects in the Los Angeles / Orange County territory from day one as Apex Works' local authority on the job, turning approved scopes and plans into safe, predictable field progress.
What you'll own
- Field execution across multiple concurrent projects in your territory
- Short-interval plans, milestone schedules, subcontractor sequencing, and daily site logistics
- Jobsite readiness, and permits, jurisdiction comments, and inspections — including the meetings with inspectors
- Subcontractors within their signed scopes: manpower, materials, quality, completion, and correction of deficient work
- Field coordination with owners, property managers, designers, engineers, utilities, and neighbors
- Plans and specifications — conflicts caught early, field conditions documented, answers driven before work is blocked
- Stopping unsafe or deficient work, holding progress evidence, and owning punch and closeout
- Escalating scope, price, contract, safety, and material-schedule risk early, with a recommended next step
- Your field authority covers the daily sequence, site logistics, and ordinary recovery plans. Commercial and scope changes need written approval.
How the lean team works
- Apex leadership handles estimating, contracts, pricing, change orders, billing, and back office. You provide accurate field information and own execution. AI-assisted workflows turn your photos, notes, and commitments into reports and follow-up without adding layers of coordinators.
What you bring
- 5+ years of construction field leadership in restoration, reconstruction, renovation, or general construction
- Evidence you have run several active projects without daily supervision
- Plan reading, subcontractor coordination, inspections, sequencing, logistics, safety, and quality-control judgment
- A record of finding constraints early, communicating bad news honestly, and closing the last ten percent
- Clear communication with clients, inspectors, design professionals, subcontractors, and leadership
- Based within driving distance of Los Angeles / Orange County projects, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfort using a phone for schedules, photos, daily evidence, and commitments
The growth path
- Deliver reliable milestones, clean documentation, and sound field judgment across projects, and you take on a full territory — then step into Regional Project Superintendent and its compensation. We'd rather promote someone who proved it here than hire a stranger.
